Georgia Hughes

Since joining us last year in year 12, Georgia has consistently impressed all who work with her for her maturity, commitment to her own studies but also to the school community.  She has a passionate interest in all aspects of the law; after interview and serious vetting procedures, gained internship with Cambridgeshire Constabulary which gave her valuable insight into their work, particularly in domestic violence cases.  She has carried out research for Agora – young person’s ‘think tank’ – and has written articles on such issues as female genital mutilation and the ongoing Home Office inquiry. After gaining a scholarship she was able to attend King’s College London’s Pre-University School for Global Politics this summer. Georgia excelled as a prefect last year and this year we are proud that she was successful in gaining the position of Deputy Head girl. Her current ambitions are to run mock general elections within school for younger students and is waiting to hear if her application to the mock EU council is successful.
